3rd Combo - [Dream]
Warnings: None
Effects: Feelings of desperation, then safety.
[His feet pounded on the dirt, his heartbeat rapid, deafening. Where was he? He had to find him! Somewhere in the fog ahead he thought he saw a pair of broad shoulders, but they disappeared almost as soon as they had appeared.
Wait! With a soundless cry he reached out, trying to stop the man. It was so important. He couldn't leave! Wait!
His hand found only fog, and then the ground wasn't there at all. He opened his mouth to yell - but two hands caught him. Caught him and swung him around to settle him on a warm, strong back. Gasping, he threw his arms, suddenly so small, around the other's neck. And just like that, the fear was gone.
Lloyd.
Safe. He was safe. And the man hadn't left.
Lloyd, can you tell me the name of that star?
He buried his face in the other's hair, so soft and spiky as it tickled his cheek. Relishing the feeling, he looked up at the stars. That's easy! It's... um... It's... Okay, maybe not so much. But he knew this one. He knew he did. The man had told him last night.
Corus.
Yeah! Corus!
Everything was all right.]
Nngh. [Something is tickling his cheek. The dream fades as consciousness slowly penetrates his brain, but the Dreamberry remains on, recording. He turns his face away from whatever it was touching - giving anyone still watching a very good view of the thick lines and doodles drawn all over his face. There's a feather on his pillow, and more on his shirt, stuck to... is that syrup?]
Huh? [Lloyd's eyes are open now and he's staring groggily at the Dreamberry.] Why's that on...? [He reaches out and picks it up, but he doesn't turn it off before dropping his head back onto his pillow. He might have forgotten to. He's still half asleep.] Ugh. I'm so not ready to wake up...

So... Your name is Maria, right? I'm Lloyd.
no subject
[she then nods] Uu! It is nice to meet you [struggles a little with your name, until she gets it right] Lloyd.
no subject
It's nice to meet you, too, Maria!
no subject
Uu.. [pause, think] What is a dwarven vow exactly?
no subject
[He's assuming she knows what a dwarf is.]
no subject
Maria doesn't know what a swarf is, Uu... sorry [she seems a little upset by this.]

[in fact, most of the people she knew were human... in one way or another. Even if a few of them were 'more' than that]
Maria thinks she would like to meet some dwarves and elves one day
no subject
If you keep looking, I bet you'll see one someday.
no subject
[she wouldn't say this to a real elf if she met one though!]
Maria hopes so! Then Maria can have more new friends to play with, uu!
no subject
He grins.] Of course it looks silly. I'm not an elf!
Don't worry. I'm sure you'll make lots of friends. Are you new here?
no subject
No, Maria has been here for [tries to count it up in her head, but gets confused] a long time. Just that, a lot of Maria's friends from home aren't here, Uu..
no subject
Oh. [His expression falls slightly, dampened by the comment.] Yeah. Most of my friends aren't here, either. [Okay, he needs to be positive.] But they'll be waiting for us, right?
no subject
Yes, when we get home we will se them all again! Uu!
[she's completely forgot that she doesn't know how to get home or if they can get home, for now]
no subject
Hey, look, I gotta go. I need to, uh, talk to my roommate.
no subject
Maria will talk to again sometime soon, maybe we can talk more about elves?
no subject
Bye, Maria!
no subject
Bye bye Lloyd!
