Damn it, I think Zelos is in a sleep coma again. He's not the only one, either. Colette's still asleep- [At least that's what he thinks. He's a little out of the loop, completely unaware that he'd been in a sleep coma, too.] -and Dino was in one, and Zack's friend, and other people. It's like they're contagious or something.

Is that what's really going on? Are people just getting sick with something we've never heard about?

[Man, now he really wishes Professor Raine was here. Even if she didn't know how to heal it, he knows she could figure out what it is. Then maybe they could figure out what to do from there.]

Now that I think of it, a lot of people are in a sleep coma lately... Maybe it is some sort of sickness...

Do you have any idea how to fix it if it is?

[Lloyd shakes his head.] Not a clue. But there are healers and doctors here... right?

[He actually isn't certain. People with healing magic, yes, but the only doctors he's encountered were the ones from that time when everyone's memories were changed and the world turned brown. He's not certain if they count.]

Then that's the next step. If we can find a doctor, maybe they can fix it.

Yeah! And then we can figure out why sleep comas happen.

...Hm. I knew sleep comas were relatively "common," but you've brought up an interesting observation.

Yeah. I mean, I've heard of people going into comas because they got hurt, but nobody I know who's been in a sleep coma got hurt, so it's gotta be something else.

The reason for these sleep comas has yet to be determined, and for all we know it could be random coincidence.

... Almost a year. I think I came in August last year...

[Lloyd frowns. He still doesn't really get how that's supposed to work. All of this... a dream? A little of his confusion, and perhaps a little skepticism, creeps into his voice.]

You think we might sleep more because we're already supposed to be asleep?

Huh? [He brightens.] She's not? That's great! So she woke up this morning? [Still under the illusion that he saw Sheena and Colette just yesterday.]

Hey, give me a break. It was only a few extra hours.

Whoa. And I thought being here since January was a long time. [He peers curiously at her.] Are you... all right? Being gone from home that long?

I'm alright. I went home once and came back. But, I have something here that I don't back home so... it's not so bad, I guess...

[Yeah, that's right. She mentioned that last time, that she'd gone and come back once.]

What do you have here that you don't at home?

Well... The friends I made here and... and I don't think England and I would have the same relationship we do now if I was back home. Not with all the politics and stuff. Not only that, we also have our bosses to worry about.

You think it could be people getting sick? Aren't most diseases contagious or something? [At least, the ones he knows are.]

I think so? [Health isn't one of the subjects he paid attention to in class, so he's in the same boat as Zack.] But it'd make sense, right? People get sick and instead of a fever, they fall asleep, then when they get better they wake up.

["Politics." Lloyd isn't going to touch that word with a ten foot pole. Politics is one of those words his Professor uses right when her lecture gets really boring and things stop making sense.]

Yeah, I guess I've made some friends here, too. [He frowns.] But if you stay here, what about your friends back home?

I'm not sure. The fact that we're sleeping to begin with is strange enough if this were just a literal dream world.

I recall someone doing a survey about sleep comas, but I'll have to go through the archives to find out who.
