17th Combo - [Video]
There! I-
[Locked from Eridan]
-did it! Good. That'll keep him from listening in on this. Thanks, Genis. I owe you one.
[Yup, somebody begged his best friend to show him how to lock. That done, he turns his attention on the Dreamberry - and Somarium in general by extension. His expression is very serious, and perhaps a little chagrined.]
Hey, everyone. I... kind of need some help. I need to get stronger, so I need to train, but I also need help learning how to fight magic users. [He makes a face.] Especially magic users that can fly.
[No, he's not talking about anyone in specific. What makes you think that?]
Does anyone want to spar? Or have any advice?

[Not helping your argument, Lloyd~]

So, what is the situation? A helpless damsel being held captive, needing a noble hero to rescue her from the big bad flying magic-user?
no subject
Something like that. [Someone missed the sarcasm there.] A flying magic user was threatening one of my friends. The problem is that she's his friend, too, so she probably wouldn't run or let someone take her away. I wouldn't, if I was in her place. So I had to stop him before he could find her.

I'm not quite sure I follow. Your friend is friendly with the person who's threatening her? If she's fine with it, perhaps it isn't your place to meddle. [Getting involved with couples who like violence is such a hassle.]
no subject
I think she just doesn't realize how much of a threat he is. He said he was going to kill her!

Have you tried speaking with her yet? It would take someone possessed of remarkable [idiocy] loyalty to have absolutely no response against a death threat. Unless you're the one who's completely misinterpreting the situation.

She says she can deal with Eridan and that I shouldn't worry. I still want to be prepared in case it comes up again.

About a month, I think. He said he didn't mean it when I talked to him again, but I'm not sure that I believe him. He sure sounded like he meant it when we fought. Kanaya's still okay, though. At least, she was a few days ago.

...Rather, did you attack him? [Oh boys, always prancing around being all macho.]
no subject
[That's a flustered, defensive yes, Jade. He did attack Eridan.]
no subject
Be that as it may, the best way to respond to a death threat is certainly not to make Eridan even more angry. Honestly. And you didn't think to make sure you can win before challenging him to a duel, or whatever it is that boys do to defend the honour of their beloved damsel?

A bit of embarrassed red begins to flush his cheeks. Because Jade... Jade has a point. And he's saying it in a way that's making Lloyd feel like an idiot. Not that he won't try to continue to defend himself.]
It wasn't her honor, it was her life. I didn't know how much time I had! What if he attacked her as soon as I left?
