[There is so much anxiety in Lloyd's face and voice when he makes the call to his friend. He needs to see Mithos, no matter what Zelos said.]

Mithos? Mithos, please pick up. It's Lloyd. Please... Just tell me you're all right.

[Lloyd breathes out slowly, feeling a wave of utter relief.]

Mithos...

Are you all right?

Lloyd... Lloyd, where are you?!

I'm at Zelos's apartment, but I'm heading home now.

[He's fine, Zelos. Just a fractured arm and some stubborn aches that refuse to be healed by First Aid. He's not going to stay in your apartment and be babied - especially when he absolutely can't rest until he's seen Mithos himself.]

Mithos, you're not answering my question.

[That and the sound of Mithos breaking is setting off all sorts of alarm in his head.]

[He can tell that, and it's making the anxiety in his gut only knot things even tighter.]

I'm fine. Zelos healed me and I'm coming home. Where are you? Are you in your room?

[That actually makes Lloyd's steps falter, and he stops.]

You don't... know? You mean you're lost?

Tell me what's around you. Maybe I can help figure out where you are.

[It is becoming more and more clear that Mithos is very much Not Okay.]

Mithos, talk to me. Or use your Dreamberry so I can see what you're near.

[He's changing direction and heading straight there as fast as he can without running. He'd run, too except his fractured arm protests being jostled that much.

Give him one good excuse, though...]

[It takes longer than he would have liked, but Lloyd finally makes it to the lake, and there, he can see a figure with blond hair waiting. Holding his arm to his chest to keep from jostling it, he can't wave, but he still raises his voice.]

Mithos!

Lloyd...!

[Lloyd, on the other hand, has no such qualms. He's not thinking of Mithos as his enemy at all, not even thinking of him as older. He's thinking of him as a friend, a friend who'd sounded distressed.

As soon as they draw near, Lloyd looks him over with his eyes, searching for anywhere he might be hurt. His eyes finally settle on Mithos's face.]

[The hug startles him a little, but there's only a moment of hesitation before he hugs Mithos back.]

Hey, it's all right. I'm here.

[Mithos's shoulders feel so small, it's almost a surprise to remember that he's supposed to be fourteen. Those shoulders are trembling - what happened?]

Mithos, talk to me.

[Oh. Lloyd stills for a moment, then hugs Mithos tighter, as though with a hug he can take every bit of pain and fear away. He hugs him so tight that it isn't Mithos clinging.

His arm aches, still fractured, but he ignores it.]

Don't worry, Mithos. I'm fine. I promise. Zelos healed me.

What? What do you mean?

[He doesn't get it. He doesn't understand. He was unconscious, he didn't see what happened. He offers a reassuring smile, not realizing what's going on.]

He just took me home so he could heal me and I could rest. He wouldn't just leave me in the street.

He picked you up and left. He flew away with you, despite anything I said...!

[But it still doesn't make sense. In fact, it makes even less sense than before, when he thought he knew what was wrong. His smile fades as he searches Mithos's face.]

[No, that's not important. It's Mithos's anger and distress he should be thinking about instead. He speaks slowly, trying to piece everything together.]

[Lloyd blinks in surprise. He hadn't seen that coming at all.]

[Wait. Lloyd gives Mithos a cautious, searching look. He doesn't like to bring this up, doesn't like to remind himself, but...]

He doesn't... know you're Yggdrasill, does he?
