7th Combo - [Video]

[He hasn't seen Dino in a while, so when Lloyd passes by the onsen during one of his many searches for the Otherworldly Gate, he decides to drop in and say hi to his friend. Of course, there's a chance that Dino might not be in, but there's no harm in checking since Lloyd happens to be here, right?

When he doesn't see his friend in the main customer area, Lloyd heads in deeper. He knows where Dino's room is. He'll just knock to see if he's there.]

Hey, Dino, it's-

[The door cracks open under his hand. Lloyd blinks in surprise, then shrugs it off. It must not have been shut all the way. Taking advantage of the open door, he pokes his head in, searching for a familiar blond head.]

Dino?

[No response from his friend, but there's something dark lying crumpled on the floor just in front of the door. The lights in Dino's room are off, so he can't see what it is, but...

Something's wrong. Somewhere in the back of Lloyd's mind, an alarm is going off. The teen pushes the door the rest of the way open so he can see. Light from the hallway spills into the room, illuminating...

His eyes widen in alarm.]

Dino!

[Some minutes later, Lloyd's panicked face appears on the screen.]

Something's wrong with Dino! He won't wake up!

[Kurogane's giving Lloyd a funny look at that very suggestion.] No. I'm the guy who owns this place. Guess this guy decided we're "family" or something.

[Shakes his head and goes over to the bed.] So he isn't waking up, huh?

Oh. Oh! [Lloyd had visited a few times, but he'd never been introduced to the owner. He feels a flicker of sheepishness before the worry eclipses it.

He shakes his head.]

I found him on the floor like this. Nothing I've tried is working. It's like he's... he's... I don't know! But something's wrong with him!

He's asleep kid, calm down. I take it you're new enough you haven't seen a sleep coma yet.

Annoying to deal with, but part of living here. Happened to the guy who adopted this klutz too not too long ago.

He'll be fine. It's a matter of waiting for him to wake up.

[Looks the boy over.] You're the kid he's talked about before. [Not so much a question, but a realization.] The one that did some sparring with him and been over here a couple times?

Sleep... coma? How long does it last? [Anything with the word "coma" sounded serious, but this guy didn't seem concerned. Was it... not that big a deal?]

Yeah. I'm Lloyd. Lloyd Irving. [His gives Kurogane a questioning look.] Um, who're you again?

As for how long, who the hell knows? We'll have to wait and see. Tch. Better not make me wait too long.

[That answer doesn't sit well with Lloyd. He doesn't like not knowing how long Dino will be out. What happens if it's... too long?

He's already resolving in his mind to stay by Dino's side to make sure that he's all right.]

[Kurogane gets a curious look.] You're waiting for him for something?

[Action] Could have sworn I tagged this already >>

He just helps out around here and I just got done dealing with one idiot falling into one of these comas, I don't need another.

[Action] I blame the recent DDoS screwing everything up. B|

[Lloyd huffs defensively for his friend's sake.] Dino's not an idiot, and this isn't his fault. [At least, he doesn't think it is.]

But if you don't want to take care of him, you don't have to. I'll stay with him myself.

[Action] That was rather annoying, could be.

[Gives Lloyd another funny look.]

Of course it isn't his fault, no one chooses to go into one of those.

[Kurogane wasn't about to admit so easily it was more worrisome than anything else when this happened to his friends...]

I don't care about having to look after him, but if you want to, you're free to stay in his room with him in the meantime.

[So if he didn't think this was Dino's fault and he wasn't irritated at having to take care of him, then why was he annoyed at having to "wait"? Lloyd frowns, but no matter how he looks at the question, he can't figure it out.

It doesn't occur to him that maybe Dino's help is needed in running the onsen.

Finally, he gives up. It probably doesn't matter.]

All right. Thanks. I'll make sure he's all right.

I'll let the others know you'll be watching him then. You can come eat meals with us if you want while you're here.

[Glances down to Dino's sleeping form and sighs.] He'll wake up though, he doesn't seem the type to give up or leave his friends waiting too long.

One or the both of us are bound to be here at any given time.

[Feeling somewhat reasurred, he nods again.]

Okay. I'll do that.

[And now it's time to focus on getting Dino as comfortable as he can. It could be a very long wait.]
