[A letter. That's what Lloyd had come home to. A letter. A letter and a suddenly empty apartment, all of Zelos's things just... gone. Lloyd stands there, still numbly holding the letter. Things had been strained between them ever since he'd found out. Found out that Zelos was dead. And how. Why. But he hadn't seen this coming.

Moved out.

Gone.

His thoughts feel broken and stilted. Zelos was gone.

Squeezing his eyes shut, the teen drops heavily into a chair.]

Dammit...

[For a long time all he does is just sit there, too many emotions lodged in his throat and his head to manage anything else. Finally, he pulls his Dreamberry out. He probably looks as bad as he feels - guilty, miserable. Angry. - but he honestly doesn't care. He needs to say something, even if it's stupid and childish.]

Somebody hit Zelos when you see him.

Fine. [His eyes dodge to the side. He's lying.] Just fine. My roommate's just being an idiot.

[She knows he's lying, just doesn't want to call him on it.]

[He hesitates. Should he even say anything? But he hasn't figured out how to fix this himself.]

...you don't know a way to change something that's going to happen, do you?

I think you can just do the best you can, and try and prevent what you don't want to happen that way.

I think the best we can do is have knowledge of the future, and try to not go down those dark paths.

[Her future involves getting murdered by her moirail, Lloyd; she knows where you're coming from.]

[Oh, he would just love learning that little detail. He and Eridan are already getting along so well.]

Yeah. You're right. We have to try, and...

[He takes a breath, then tries to smile.]

[A short pause.]

You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, but... what are you trying to prevent yourself from doing?

[Oh, but their relationship is developing nicely. So well, in fact! Just read the thread below, you can't miss the passion!]

[Lloyd grimaces at the question, running a hand through his hair. It doesn't bother him that Kanaya asked, but thinking about what happened - will happen. Could happen? - It still hurts, and it definitely shows in his voice. He doesn't want it to happen at all.

I... I killed one of my best friends. And a city. I attacked a whole city, too. I don't even know how many people I killed there.

I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. But... at least, if you know it's coming, you can do everythign you can to prevent it, right?

[Oh, come on, she knows she loves it. She's the one who picked Eridan for a moirail~ She had to know this was coming.]

Yeah... [He takes a deep breath.] That's what I'm trying to do. I don't want that to happen. Any of it. I'll find a way to stop it from happening, I swear. I just haven't figured out how.

[Lloyd is and will always be grateful for friends like Kanaya. Even when he's struggling, he knows he can rely on them to help him however they can, even if it's just with morale.]
