14th Combo - [Dream]

The dream starts off simply enough, with the figure of a glowering forevveraglub standing with arms crossed. The scenery around him is indistinct, perhaps a field or a forest. rainbowpalette, a girl, is standing in front of him. Neither one looks happy, but the girl is particularly upset. Eridan snaps something at Kanaya, who looks like she's almost in tears.

For a moment, the dream fuzzes and goes out of focus and...

Lloyd leans forward, smiling at Kanaya as he holds her protectively. "Don't worry," he says. "I don't care what Eridan says about the future. I'll make sure it never happens."

"Thank you, Lloyd." Kanaya smiles back, arms around his neck. "You're a really good friend."

And watching them draw close, seeing how happy they are, the only thing Eridan can do is sob. If only he'd been nicer to his friend, that could have been him in her arms!

Hm...I don't think so. Then again I have no idea how she feels about you. I take it you two are good friends at least?

Yeah, we are. We've been friends for a few months. So maybe... maybe she won't be too mad. It was just a dream, right? I can't really controll things like that.

She probably won't be too mad. I've only ever seen her happy, depressed, and neutral.

Depressed? [Lloyd's "worry for his friends" part just got pinged.] Why was she depressed?

Oh that was a long while ago. I think that's when I first met her, actually. Anyway, I think it had something to do with her friends. But they later made up so it was all good.

[pause.]

Something to do with her moirale maybe?

[Lloyd mutters something under his breath.]

I wouldn't be surprised.

[He still doesn't get how Kanaya can stand Eridan. She's so... so nice, and he's not.]

I'll have to keep an eye out to make sure she's feeling all right now. I don't know about her other friends, but Eridan's still Eridan. [Which means he probably isn't any better than he was before.]

I guess now I just have to wait and see if she saw my dream.
