[Yup, somebody begged his best friend to show him how to lock. That done, he turns his attention on the Dreamberry - and Somarium in general by extension. His expression is very serious, and perhaps a little chagrined.]

Hey, everyone. I... kind of need some help. I need to get stronger, so I need to train, but I also need help learning how to fight magic users. [He makes a face.] Especially magic users that can fly.

[No, he's not talking about anyone in specific. What makes you think that?]

Does anyone want to spar? Or have any advice?

[Lloyd had been armed and prepared with an apology for arriving late to their meeting, but hey, new place he's never been, he's sure Ace will understand. When he'd been the first to arrive, though...

Well, that makes that apology unnecessary. Lloyd blinks and looks around to make sure Ace isn't there, then settles himself in to wait.

And wait.

The minutes crawl by.

Ugh, so bored.

Ten extremely dull minutes later, Lloyd flips open the Dreamberry again.]

Hey, Ace! Did you get lost?

Lots of space for you to fly and for me to try to dodge?

[His smile disappears into another confused blink. Sorry, he tends to take people at their literal word, and literally...]

God's tear? A god cried for you? What... happened?

You can call me whatever makes you comfortable. I don't really mind.

Hah, it's not like people are unkind, just that a lot of people like to argue and say it's impossible and things like that. I'm more used to people knowing what I am…

I looked at the caller-id during our conversation.

[a small sigh. he really has to get used to this.]

Yes, but I go by Kid.

[...this kid. She deadpans and purses her lips.]

No. I am a god. The details on how it happened aren't really important!

I like Elizabeth. It's a pretty name. [And it doesn't make him think of chicken or get mangled when he tries to say it.]

Oh. [Wait. She just said that she's a god. Lloyd does a brief doubletake.] Whoa, that's amazing! I've never actually met a god. I mean, I wasn't even sure they existed. Martel's the only one I really heard about and she... well... that's a long story.

[A slight pause. When he speaks again, there's a slight frown and his tone is much more reserved.]

...you don't require... sacrifices, do you?

[...ok that makes her giggle.]

Weeeeeeeell I don't know! What kind of sacrifices are we talking about~?

[Wait.] You mean... your Dreamberry can tell you who someone is? Even if they didn't say?

Kid. Got it! ["Kid" is still a little strange for a name, but not near as much as "Death"!] Nice to meet you, Kid!

[Lloyd folds his arms, wary now. This is part of the reason why he doesn't believe in the Goddess Martel anymore.]

I mean people sacrificing themselves. Does anyone have to give up their life for you if they're part of your church?

All right, then, Elizabeth it is! It's nice to meet you, Elizabeth!

[She tilts her head, and blinks very childishly.]

Killing themselves? Wow, stupid! Why would anyone do that?

Humans are so weird!

Hm... that seems about right, actually.

My best friend is a swordman and I've trained against him before. It shouldn't be too much of an issue. [Tifa? At an advantage? Nope.]

If they thought they had to do it to save everyone else...

[But the fact that she's denying even the possibility of it makes him start to relax. Maybe he doesn't really believe in gods and goddesses on a personal level anymore, but he can be okay with one who doesn't require sacrifice.]

I think there should always be another way, even if it's hard to find. No one should have to give up their life. If you die to save someone's life, then someone's still dying, and that defeats the purpose!

It's nice to meet you too, - er?

[Well, if Regal can fight with his feet... Lloyd nods, accepting her word for it.]

If you have an Exsphere, too, then I won't worry about using mine. So, when do you want to do this? Oh, yeah! My name's Lloyd!

Abrupt topic shift is successful in derailing his train of thought.]

Oh, right! Yeah, I definitely don't want to die! So... I'm meeting some other people today. How about tomorrow morning on the floating mountain?

[Her smirk stretches mischievously, the eyelid of her seven-pupiled eye closing once in a wink.]

How about in a few days? I'm going to train with a few other people first, and I bet after that I'm going to be pretty sore. [Honest, sheepish grin. Hey, at least he's willing to admit that he isn't going to come out of this without some bruises.] I can give you a call when I'm ready. Will that be okay?

[ooc: Waiting a few days works for me. o/ I'll keep an eye out for you to post that you're back from hiatus.]

[For one tiny fraction of a second, Lloyd feels a sense that maybe he made a mistake, or that he might be getting in over his head - maybe because of that mischievous grin and wink, maybe because of the whole "fighting with a god" thing - but the feeling disappears before it can really sink in. Because this? This is going to be awesome!]
