[Yup, somebody begged his best friend to show him how to lock. That done, he turns his attention on the Dreamberry - and Somarium in general by extension. His expression is very serious, and perhaps a little chagrined.]

Hey, everyone. I... kind of need some help. I need to get stronger, so I need to train, but I also need help learning how to fight magic users. [He makes a face.] Especially magic users that can fly.

[No, he's not talking about anyone in specific. What makes you think that?]

Does anyone want to spar? Or have any advice?

Oh. [Wait. She just said that she's a god. Lloyd does a brief doubletake.] Whoa, that's amazing! I've never actually met a god. I mean, I wasn't even sure they existed. Martel's the only one I really heard about and she... well... that's a long story.

[A slight pause. When he speaks again, there's a slight frown and his tone is much more reserved.]

...you don't require... sacrifices, do you?

[Lloyd folds his arms, wary now. This is part of the reason why he doesn't believe in the Goddess Martel anymore.]

I mean people sacrificing themselves. Does anyone have to give up their life for you if they're part of your church?

If they thought they had to do it to save everyone else...

[But the fact that she's denying even the possibility of it makes him start to relax. Maybe he doesn't really believe in gods and goddesses on a personal level anymore, but he can be okay with one who doesn't require sacrifice.]

I think there should always be another way, even if it's hard to find. No one should have to give up their life. If you die to save someone's life, then someone's still dying, and that defeats the purpose!

[Keeping up with Vriska is like trying to keep up with a whirlwind sometimes, or at least that's what it's starting to feel like. Lloyd might have kept arguing the point about dying, but...

Abrupt topic shift is successful in derailing his train of thought.]

Oh, right! Yeah, I definitely don't want to die! So... I'm meeting some other people today. How about tomorrow morning on the floating mountain?

[Her smirk stretches mischievously, the eyelid of her seven-pupiled eye closing once in a wink.]

[For one tiny fraction of a second, Lloyd feels a sense that maybe he made a mistake, or that he might be getting in over his head - maybe because of that mischievous grin and wink, maybe because of the whole "fighting with a god" thing - but the feeling disappears before it can really sink in. Because this? This is going to be awesome!]

[Click! Not the best with manners, this one, but he'll definitely keep his word. He'll be there on the mountain at eight o' clock, waiting for Vriska.]

[And of course, hovering there the next morning will be Vriska. She realizes now that specifying a time at night would have been a better idea -- luckily, it wasn't too late in the morning for her just yet, so she could keep most of the fatigue out of her eyes.

[If Vriska is tired, Lloyd doesn't notice the signs. He's still as excited as he was the day before, though this time there's an air of confident readiness in the way he holds himself. He's wearing his signature red jacket and gloves, his swords belted at his sides. As soon as he sees Vriska, he waves, grinning.]

Hey, Vriska! Good morning!

[She takes a good moment to give Lloyd the once over. Average human, as far as she could tell -- a swordfighter. She'd have to be mindful of her wings.]

As good as a morning can be, I guess!

[Lloyd's getting a good look at those wings himself. They're different than the kind of wings he's used to, and not just in shape. They look more physical than the wings Colette, Kratos, and Yggdrasill have. He'll have to be careful not to cut them. This is just training, after all, not a real battle. He doesn't want to do any permanent damage.]

Hey, I'm getting trained by a god. That's a pretty good morning for me!

[She giggles when she notices him giving her the once over, fluttering said wings in a brief display of dramatic flair. It wasn't often she got new people looking at them, so she enjoyed showing off while she was able. She pulls out her Fluorite Octet, placing one of eight die between each finger.]

I've been informed that I'm a pretty tough teacher, you know! But Eridan isn't gonna take mercy on you, so don't expect me to!

[He might not know what those dice are for, but he can tell when someone's getting ready for a fight. He shifts his stance subtly, drawing his swords. His smile becomes something more confident and anticipatory.]

My Dad says I can be as stubborn as a rock, and a lot of people have told me I don't know when to quit. I can take everything you've got, Vriska. Don't expect me to hold back, either.

[His tone and stance said everything else. I'm ready whenever you are.]

I don't know about everything! But lucky for you, I'm not looking to kill you!

[Not yet. She stands, fingers placing themselves on her temple, dice still in hand.]

You have one job -- hit me! And be quick about it!

[Her wings give a flutter -- she'll be prepared to thieve his luck once he charges.]

[He has no idea how lucky he is that she isn't trying to kill him, no idea at all that she can steal luck itself, that that's even possible.]

Just one hit, huh? This is gonna be a piece of cake!

[And charge he does, hard and fast - maybe faster than a regular human, but he's not using any techs yet. He's testing the waters, trying to get a feel for what he's up against. Will she dodge left or right or up? How fast can she move with those wings?]

[And suddenly, she's gone, swiftly dodging to the right with his stolen luck. As punishment, she flicks him in the ear.]

Missed! Striiiiiiiike one!

[She flies backward to put distance between them again, making a beckoning motion.]

[Wow, she's fast! Or maybe not fast, but agile, with very quick reflexes - at least that's what it looks like to Lloyd. She dodged him like it was nothing!

Far from discouraged, though, Lloyd's eyes gleam with anticipation.]

Heh. Pretty good. Let's see how you handle this!

[He dashes forward again, but this time instead of just trying to attack, he's going to give chase if she dodges, trying to match her turn for turn. Of course, if she goes up...

He's got a plan for that, too.]
