Hey, everyone! Guess who's officially an adult today!

[That's right, it's his birthday - or the one that he and Dirk celebrate. The only one he's ever known, so the only one that counts as far as he's concerned.]

Oh, yeah, by the way, Kanaya, I finished that necklace for you! When do you wanna meet up?

[He... hasn't realized yet that Kanaya is gone. Late with your gifts again, Lloyd. Always late. :/ ]

But man, I've been looking forward to this birthday so much! Now that I'm eighteen, I don't have to go back to school!

Well, in some ways, it kind of feels the same as before. I think it's just knowing I'm an adult that feels different. It feels like I can do anything now.

Yeah. My Dad's a smith. He taught me a lot, but I wasn't ever strong enough to do the bigger stuff. I'm pretty good at detail work, though, and small things like jewelry. Still not as good as him, but then it's pretty hard to beat a dwarf.

Isn't that what adults do? I want to get a job so that I can do something, be part of the world I live in. Even if that world is here and not the world I grew up in. I'm not going to give up on finding a way home, but that doesn't mean I can't be part of this world while I'm here.
