Hey! This is Lloyd! Or, well, sort of. This isn't actually me, it's just this recording thing. I don't really get how it works, but it works, so if you leave a message, I'll get back to you soon! I promise!

For a week. Not having a need for sleep enabled study, was not particularly ill.

[If anything, Lloyd's frown of confusion only deepens. Duke's odd way of speaking is sometimes hard for him to parse.]

I don't understand. You don't want to hurt someone, so... so what? What are you trying to say?

.... If the situation involving Zelos's death, if can prevent the need for a suicide, prevent injury to those who care for him. If I can re-apply a similar effect, tie it to the crest, activate if damaged, hold it for a time, it would allow for the crest to repaired.

Ten hours, would have to reapply after, perhaps a half hour more pressed, devour it for added fuel but would obviously start falling apart.

[Zelos had killed himself because he didn't want to turn into an Exbelua. He didn't want to be a danger this friends, to lose himself and become a monster. If Duke could hold that off long enough...

Lloyd's voice fills with amazement.]

... It works on me, the formula - spell. I have yet to try for eight hours, but I am confident that eight hours is a possibility. There may a chance of accidental use of the stored mana within it, if he grasps it, but I can safeguard against that.

[Lloyd still sounds a little stunned at the idea.]

If you could keep someone from turning into a monster if their Key Crest got damaged, I could fix it and...

[And there wouldn't be any need for anyone to do what Zelos did. Lloyd's heart lurches at the idea, hopeful excitement filling his voice.]

This is great! Can you do more than one spell like that?

It would be a self-sustaining thing after its creation. Specifying for another may take further time, but so long as the "angel" state is the same, then it is a possibility. How many others?

Zelos and Colette, definitely, and...

[He hesitates. He has no idea where he stands with them now, only that things are awkward, if not painful. But he also doesn't know if they need it or not. He doesn't know how closely they've become tied to their Crystals, if damage to their Key Crests would do the same thing it would to Zelos and Colette.

But can they afford to assume that it won't?]

Maybe... Kratos and Mithos, too?

Three added? I know of two, Kratos is one I have not met.

Mithos may be problematic. Would have to study the form shift.

If you know Mithos, then he's like that, only Kratos used to be human, not a half-elf. I don't think he can change his age like Mithos can, though. And I guess all you can do with Mithos is ask...

... Hmn. [ Sounds like Lloyd either doesn't quite know what is up with Mithos and Kratos, or has strange feelings about Kratos. Either way. ]

Possible, to apply a line that would alter the formula with his own shifting of .. age?

I'm not sure I get what you just said, but... yeah. Definitely talk to them.

[He breathes out, trying to let some of his mixed feelings dissipate. Focus on the good here. He lets a small smile form on his face.]

[Lloyd's face softens, though Duke can't see it, the smile fading a bit. He hadn't really held it against Duke after hearing the other's explanation of what happened. It was a mistake. A deadly mistake, but a mistake. He wouldn't do it again, and Zelos was back now, so it didn't really matter

But... This helps. This helps a lot.]

... I .. hurt, the people who care for him. At least with this, it would not be... repeated, the same way I .. caused it.

I'm not sure it's possible not to ever hurt anyone. Things happen by accident sometimes. I can't even count the number of mistakes I've made that hurt someone I didn't mean to. You've apologized and you're trying to fix it. That's the best anyone can expect.

... as it is impossible to please everyone, very likely correct.

I'm... not sure. Things are... I don't know. I don't know how they'd take it if you told them I said you should talk to them. Maybe you should try without it first.
