[Lloyd shakes his head, forgetting for a moment that Ky can't see him.]

[A pause, then...]

What's this all about? Did Zelos do something to make you mad at him?

I wanted some information from him, and I saw the two of you sleeping together. In the same bed, I mean.

[ Ky's still a little confused and slightly concerned, but he doesn't know how to ask what he feels he should. ]

Did you...initiate what happened between you?

Oh. So, Zelos won't answer your questions, huh?

[Somehow Lloyd isn't surprised. His defensive tone fades as he thinks he's figured this out, replaced with a tone of understanding.]

Hmm. I guess you could say I started it. I did go over there to talk to him. Well, I wanted to do something, too, but he was tired. I guess sleeping worked, too, though, so that's all right.

Voice;

[ If he... But then... No, that sort of thing was surely none of Ky's business. Not if Lloyd knows what he wants and there's no pressure that he feels to do something that he doesn't want to. Whatever he might then have decided to do with Zelos, is his choice. Ky's trying not to let the idea bother him as much as it still seems to. ]

Ah, I'm sorry. Any relationship you choose to pursue with him is of course your own business. I didn't mean to intrude on something like that.

You just walked in on us while we were asleep, right? Don't worry, it's fine. You didn't know I was there, and it's not like we were doing anything. You didn't even wake us up.

[Not for lack of trying, but Lloyd doesn't know about that lightning.]

Why not? If Zelos wasn't explaining things to me, I might ask someone else, too.

I didn't call you because of that, I called you because I was reading things into the situation which concerned me. I shod have kept my nose out of it.

So... then you were just worried.

[Lloyd's still not entirely sure what Ky was worried about. This whole conversation is a little confusing. But he's managed to pin down that much at least.]

I don't think there's anything wrong with making sure that everything's all right. If something had been wrong, you'd regret it if you didn't ask, right?

And...it's always to meet someone else who's on it. How are you finding being on the Defense Force?

It's a little boring sometimes, actually. I guess that's a good thing, since it means nothing bad is happening, but sometimes I still want something to do.

I understand. I'm used to spending all of my free time on something important. Here, it's...an artificial idleness.

I've been spending my free time training and making stuff. I'm going to build a boat! This isn't my world, so I know I can't get home that way, but maybe if I can sail somewhere else, I can find more clues or something that will help.

It's commendable that you're not giving up just because you're here. It seems like too many people have.

Nah, I'm not about to give up. Dwarven vow number sixteen: You can do anything if you try! It's only once you stop trying that you can't do anything.

I agree with the sentiment, but I'm not quite sure where you've gotten it from.

The Dwarven Vows are the general code and rules that dwarves live by, or pieces of good advice. My Dad's a dwarf. He made me memorize them.

Does that mean that you're...a dwarf? Or half dwarven?

[What do dwarves even look like..?]

[One of these days Lloyd will figure out that when he explains things like that, people will assume the wrong thing. That day is not today, though. He blinks in surprise, then understanding.]

Huh? Oh! No, I'm human. My Dad found me when I was three, after my parents died. He took me in and raised me as his son, so as far as I'm concerned, he's my Dad.

Ah. In that case, it seems fortunate that he was able to take you in, and that he found you. It sounds as though he did a good job raising you.

Yeah, I'm really lucky...

[The feed is voice only, but Ky might still hear the soft smile in Lloyd's voice. He really loves his Dad and appreciates when people recognize what Dirk did.

Of course, there's also a hint of pleased embarrassment at being complimented like that.]
